Camped this weekend, took the jeep!

Camped out in the San Gorgonio Wilderness this weekend, weather was nice, not too cold.

My buddy and I stayed at mission springs camp the first night, we arrived at 2AM. The next morning we made our way to Fish Creek Trail, passed the meadows and set up camp at Fish Creek Camp. Unfortunately we didn't summit due to time constraints but we plan on going back soon to make it to the top! Didn't see too many folks up there.

I decided I'm going to head up there this weekend! I'm going to do fish creek also, I have not done this trail yet, I've done south fork and Vivian a few times. Friday I'm just going to head up in the afternoon and head to fish creek camp. Saturday I plan on packing up and heading to big tree, set up camp and hit the summit. I hear big tree is pretty remote, rugged and beautiful and its on the whitewater river, should be good exploring.

the summit is cool hope you can get up there. My friend and I stayed overnight on the summit back in June - that was fun.

Ive seen reports there is water at fish creek, how was it when you were there?

Nice! I’ve not done South Fork or Vivian yet. It sounds like you’ve got a good weekend game plan though. I plan to do the summit when I’m better equipped, this was a last minute trip for me. We did cross a small creek en route to fish creep camp. Have a safe trip, be sure to post pictures.

I will be over at the northern Mojave Desert section of the San Bernardino National Forest this weekend with some old colleagues, we’re hiking to the deep creek hot springs for the day.
