Hi Hish!

I have just bought an old TJ in Dubai.

Do you suggest anywhere I can go for my first desert driving experience?

Cheers.

i would say for your first time you can go to the mirdiff area , their is small nice piece of desert that is close to the road .... so in case u get stuck a lot of ppl can help.
always try to go with someone ... alone is not advisable , coz u might get stuck and need someone to tow u

and one of the best place to drive offroading in dubia is near "AL Madam" between sharjah and dubai that is near the " BIG RED" which is a huge dune where u will find all those buggies and supercharged patrol/landcriuseres trying to climb the dune

i hope this helps, and if u need me to give u more directions/gps coordinates im more than happy to do so

Thanks Hish! Yeah I know Big Red, been there a few times to rent the quad bikes. Alone is definitely a bad idea as I'm sure I'll be getting stuck the first time I try it.

i would also recommend that you check this site :
ALMOST4X4 CLUB

they are a group of very nice and helpful people that organize offroading trips every weekend , and will always welcome new guys to join them

this weekend they are planning a drive on Friday afternoon , make sure u buy a walkie talkie from "Dragon mart" so u can always communicate with those guys and anyone can jump to ur help if u get stuck or face any problem
