Hogmoor Arena, UK - June 2009

Well it was a very nice day. The weather was great, partly cloudy in the low 70's. We arrived about 0945 and unhooked the jeep, pulled the front flares off so they don't get broken again and drove into get scrutineered (inspected). I just finished inspection and was about to get into the jeep when I was asked to recover someone, or at least try to. The Landrover and I couldn't budge the thing. His starter was out and he had a trailer with a rig on it which he unloaded and we still couldn't move it.

In the end it took this Unimog go pull it through.

So we didn't get to start playing till about 1100. But it was worth it.

Then I got stuck. Bikini tops can be substituted as winch blankets.

And I got stuck again.

But I wasn't the only one with problems.

Here's a tip....Don't try to yank someone out with somebody on your hood.

In the end these 2 got him out. Unimog to the rescue again.

Lots of people showed up to this event. It was quite crowded in areas. Here are some random pics of some of the vehicles there. Tons of plain stock SUV's running around on the trails too.

Oh and I have a couple videos of me getting stuck.

That snapping sound you hear in the first video is my t-case chain skipping.

You two have no idea. 3 things. First here is a blow up of the door art.

Second it has a hoist in the back. And third, it has a set of jumper leads that are at least 100ft long. He jump started me. From where he is parked here......

to where I'm sitting here.

Oh I do understand Mogs, I ran one for about a year. It was the largest model they make and had the 42" terra tires. It was just about unstoppable. (I found what would stop one )

Neither one of those. It was a meadow (in the spring) with no bottom. It took a grader, an excavator and 4 men 8 hours to recover it. It had sunk in mud over the top of the tires.

Nice. That is one of the downers about owning a rig like that. When it does get stuck, IT'S STUCK!!!

The bad part is I was going out to rescue a little Massey Ferguson that was buried in the muck. I pulled forward enough to get the winch line to him and felt the rig go straight down. Oh that sinking feeling!
