JeepSkool Aug 7, 2010 ( Video's Added)

Had another great time at JeepSkool this month. Since I have the TruTracs now I had to try some tougher stuff - which naturally resulted in some carnage. Nothing I couldn't drive home with though. Mostly my steering wheel is off pretty bad - not sure if that means other damage or not. And my gas tank skid is wasted and pushed into the tank. Not leaking as far as I know, but time for Rokmen I guess! T-case skid got bent too, but all in all the skids did what they were supposed too. Some kind of scraping noise when I turn too. It will all get checked out later this week.

Most of the pics are from the same trail - named Tiger Back. I would have never tried this without the TruTracs, and they were amazing. Thanks to Tony (Havoc) for the great spotting and a little tug when I got my bumper wedged against a big rock. The sawzall is going to take care of that so it doesn't happen again. I couldn't resist taking a few pics of the Green Monster tackling the same trail after me. Sitting on 40s and fully locked this rig was amazing. Just pushed boulders out of it's way. The OD Cherokee was Matt's who I wheeled with all day. His son is 16 and drove quite a bit. He did great!

Enjoy! (For some reason the slideshow is in backwards order)

Looks like a good time. I see you have extra clearance on the skids now.

Here are a few highlights:

Near the beginning of Tiger Back is actually almost the toughest part:

Once past that there is a tough little sandy climb.

Once up the hill I had to get past these two big rocks. My bumper proved to be the problem when it hung up on the big rock. I couldn't cut it enough to get around it without hitting the other one...

....so Havoc drove up from the other side and gave me a tug to get past the rock.

Once past there it was a tight squeeze between this monster rock and the cliff wall. This resulted in a pretty good scrape on my flare. Eh.

One of the rocks got my gas tank skid:

I watched this awesome rig climb a hill called Mean Green which is the one that broke Rick Pewe's Ultimate Adventure truck last year. The hill is almost vertical. Unfortunataly my camera broke before I could get a shot of him climbing it.

Wait - I take that back. I did get the shot, kinda - but as you can see my camera was screwed up. After this it would only take a blur.

Very nice pics "Gusdaddy". Looks like you had a blast (literally)
Time to trade those painted flares for some real ones.

Yep. Since it scratched I guess i need tube flares. And a rokmen gas tank skid. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I tweaked a rear lower control arm too. So I guess new Rokmen CA. Since my stock t-case skid got bent up I might as well go with a full out belly up from them too. I'll be right back - I have to go rob a bank.

Nice pics Gus. You've really been hitting some intense trails in Jake lately. But God hates a coward, right?

Thanks everyone! Funny how the more money you spend on your rig the more capable it gets so the more intense trails you do so the more carnage you get so the more money you spend to make your rig more capable so you can.......

I ran into this issue at the last socal meet and greet. Its almost depressing when you get home after wheeling and realize you dont have the money to upgrade everything that you know needs upgraded

It's east of Twinsburg Ohio in a town called Garretsville right off SR 82. It's on Southington Hunt Clubs property. 1500 acres!
