I love florida but the pictures just pale in comparison to the California ones!

Yeah that would be cool. Every other Thursday night 6:30-whenever, they have a Jeep get together at CJ's Drafthouse in Deerfield. They are having it tomorrow, but not sure I can make it this time. Lots of cool people.

You should both check out Florida 4x4 on Facebook there are people who wheel from all over the state. I live in Jacksonville and tend to go wheeling in Ocala because it has more interesting terrain, but it's a trek so I don't go often.

Ocala is a little far for me. It's about 4 1/2 hours away.

That sounds good. Keep me posted the next time you plan on going. I have a few other jeepers that might tag along.

This trip was in Citrus WMA.

I have been in Citrus WMA, Ocala NF, Osceola NF, and Lochloossa WMA to name a few.

They all have their pluses and minuses, but my favorite area is Osceola NF near Lake City on I75.

It is the quietest, most fun, and laid back area we have in Florida. I see more wildlife and no one else there all the time. ATV's don't go in these areas due to the water depth.

But you can get in a whole lot of trouble real fast if you think that hole is only 10"'s deep.......

Hunting season is on in all except Citrus right now and I don't go out much then. Don't like holes in my jeep.....

i was just checking out the newest 4wheeling magazine and they showed their trip through Ocala NF, it definetly looks like a great time out there. that's definetly going to be a trip i take after i get my jeep and get it ready for that type of off roading.

do they have a light trails out there?

Yes there are all kinds of trails there. Take someone with you as it can be a lot deeper than it looks....

A lot of the trails are tight and you might get a little Jeep pin stripping.

One last thing, make sure the trail you are on IS marked for Jeeps. It is a $550 fine per incident for you on the wrong or closed trail. They will not be forgiving...

Here is the link to download the Motor Vehicle use Map and description.

Ocala National Forest - Home

Enjoy.

Hey guys if you are thinking about going to Corbett check out this thread with pics & videos from a big group ride we had in January to get an idea of what it is like...also FYI unfortunately the FWC has been cracking down on Jeepers in Corbett and only trail 6 is currently open to ride and it is probably under water right now.

i was just out and had no problems with people and didn't see it posted anywhere that any trails were closed. i went all over 3 and 5... they are sand and it was very nice. what could happen if i'm somewhere i shouldn't be? i heard they were getting strict but i thought that it was just for playing in undesignated marsh and that all designated trails were fine... could i just carry my dads gun and say that i'm hunting not off roading and get away with it?
