Just got back from a milk run for photos of my Jeep and STILL managed to recover a stuck Ford Ranger on a trail taking the long way home.
(it was beautiful this afternoon, try and blame me!)
The kid was sitting on his hood with his winch cable in hand. His engine was running, he was just in a bad place in the middle of a big 'ol puddle.
I nosed up to him, he walked out and hooked on and i pulled him out.
The whole recovery took 5 minutes and I didn't take a single snapshot of it!
Current recovery tally: 1 Chevy Blazer, 1 Ford Ranger

Here are a bunch of photos from today's photo run:

This morning on a friend's land in Waupaca County, nearly 400 acres near Chain O' Lakes, with a bunch of motocross and atv trails running through it. Earlier this year I promised him I'd take his munchkins (5 & 7) on a spin around the property in my Jeep if it snowed again this year. They had a ball.

Took a couple of quick photos before I loaded them up.

The tires are 315/75R16 DuraTracs. Awesome in snow.

Awesome!!

What top are you running?

That looks like the Trektop NX. I am wanting one of those come spring.

It's an ORH (Off Road Heroes) top, made by a guy named Tim Taylor in Canada. Since it's just him, it can take awhile for him to fill an order. He's definitely a soft-top mad scientist, but buying from him can be...an experience.

Here's a thread that pretty much outlines the way the top works, the installation, etc. There are some photos near the end with the rear bikini and the windows off, but it was a 30º day, so I left the bikini over the front seats and the doors on.

ORH top installed

Brought the new rubicon real off roading today for the first time. I was amazed at what it could do without any effort at all. I chickened out of heading down some hills because I was alone, no winch, and it was really muddy and snowy.

This could get addictive.

One day last fall

In the last pic, I was being the Anchor for the CJ. You can't see it in the pic, but his driver side front tire was about a foot off the ground. His "pucker factor" was more than just a little high that day!! The first pic is me in the exact same spot the day before; but had all 4 in full contact with mother earth. Just for the benefit of all those that doubt the capabilities of a bone stock JK!!!

A couple more from this weekend's snow storm. Supposed to hit the 50's later this week, so the snow's gonna be a goner soon. We'll probably get one more good, freak snowstorm @ the end of March or early April, but next up for me should be mud photos.

This is only our second decent snowstorm of the winter. Glad I was home to take advantage.

Now that it's close to topless weather, we'll probably get buried.
