Rubicon Trail - 12/29/11

So i was up in south lake tahoe for xmas vacation with my family and there is no snow at all. I had an opportunity to run the Rubicon Trail from Loon Lake to Spyder Lake and back with some guys from http://www.norcaljeepers.com. I would like to say thanks to connor0770 and pdanderp for letting me join them, great group of guys and jeepers.

so the weather was great and was in the 30's when we started and warmed up to probably 60's. there was snow and ice along the trail on the way in, and mud on the way out. that made the trail more fun. nobody needed a tug, strap, or winch.

this place is amazing, and i can't wait to go back this summer and run the whole trail.

also props to connor for finding me a poly performance track bar days later and dropping it off to me at the condo. when we got off the trail the jeep got the death wobble shake, due to a bad bushing in the stock track bar.

Here is a youtube video, and i can't seem to get their audio swap to work, i have tried twice. but for now here it is with no music. the gopro is 4x the speed and doesn't have any sound, and there is video throughout from my handheld camera, all in HD.

its a 07 rubicon, 2.5 in teraflex coil lift, 35" MTR/K tires. everything else pretty much stock. we did the first 6 miles and had to use the lockers on the icy stuff, if it was dry don't think i would have used them. other than that, my rig did fine. we only did the first 6 miles, in and out.

i can't wait to go back this summer and run the whole thing!
