Good Video. I noticed a lot of differences since 1968 besides the 6" lifts and 38" tires the video mentions.

Seat Belts and Roll Cages being the biggest.

That and speed. Looks like they just rammed over everything with force instead of crawling. The ride looked extremely rough to me...

you should be fine. I just went through with 33's and lockers with no problems used my rocker guards in a couple places though.

Sounds good to me. I'll have sliders and an engine skid by then.

AWESOME pics!!!

We have a small group heading out on 24-27 Aug for our yearly camping trip. I cant wait!

Last year, we went in from the backside, down Cadillac to the river. I was only on 31's and 2" BB and made it... took good lines and kept all four on the rocks with LSD rear and open front.

I'm still open front and LSD rear, but on 4" and 33's now and heading in from the front this year, through the Sluece.

I CANT WAIT!!!

thanks for sharing!

I wondered how you knew there were two Stan's. The you called in and I heard one of the girls say "Stan there is a Stan holding on line 4". Funny stuff, counting you there were 4 Stans.

Thanks for calling. I hope you found some direction.

Great pictures! What an amazing trip! It seems like most of the jeeps there are really build up. How basic of a jeep could do the rubicon? I'm gonna take a logical guess and assume that a stock Wrangler (rubicon edition) probably can't do the entire Rubicon trail itself. What do you guys think? I've never been there so I wouldn't know...

a stock rubicon can make it thru, but it will take a beating!

id say to be safe, minimum 33" tires, lift and lockers

I don't know about a stock TJ Rubicon, but I suppose a stock JK Rubicon "CAN" get through with an experienced driver and spotter and a few tugs, but personally I wouldn't and didn't. I waited until I was sitting on 35's to do this trail. I would say minimum 33" tires, preferably 35's, and one locker minimum, preferably two.

The rubicon models have lockers on them stock, that's pretty much the only upgrade from Sahara edition, along with a few other perks. I totally agree with the tires though, from what I've heard there's some pretty extreme rock crawling spots where the upgraded tires would be essential. What's the biggest tires you can put under a stock jk without rubbing? Anyone know?

Yah, that last sentence, I was just speaking in general.

I heard you can put 33's on an unlifted JK if you have enough backspacing on the wheels.
