Titus Canyon at Death Valley 12-28-2013

Titus Canyon Death Valley 12-28-2013 - a set on Flickr

This trip is one way from just outside Beatty, NV near the Rhyolite Ghost Town heading into Death Valley. The trail passes thru Leadfield mining area which was only active for less than a year, before heading into Titus Canyon and finally ending up in Death Valley. The last part of our trip ended at Scotty's Castle at the north end of Death Valley National Park.

Good photos of what must have been a nice trip!

Never made it out there when I was in southern California, never enough "free" time! I did hit some of the other trails, but missed Death Valley, always wanted to hit that one. The roads look to be in great shape!

Thanks for sharing. Guy

It was a good day with beautiful Winter weather in the desert. A lot of pavement for the 30 miles of trails that we were able to enjoy. Death Valley offers numerous off road trails and is well worth exploring if you ever make it back. Titus Canyon is actually a trail that can be explored in cars, but most of the other trails will require 4x4 with high clearance if you want to explore.

Thanks, would love to make it up in the Northwest one of these days, I hear that there are plenty of areas up there to explore!
