Heck. I like parking by the escalator or Potato Salad Hill & watching the carnage there. Don't have to be spinning tires to be having a good time out there.
You're right Bruce. But I climbed Potato Salad hill three times, and drove it home... Guess I'm a little off in the head.

Long canyon is fun. I don't think it takes you much more time from Dead Horse point to Downtown Moab going thru there vs the hiway. Certainly less traffic & more scenic.
When you coming out again??

The first time had major pucker factor. After that you made it look easy.

Glad you liked the pic. Ya, I just had to go there. We tested out little jeep out a bit but really went to experience the buggies. Also got a chance to thank the owner of the land & commend him on providing such a wonderful place for enthusiasts to enjoy. No entry fee, just donations. I admonish all jeepers to support area BFE!!!

The obstacles in BFE are rediculous. You have to actually witness it to believe it.

It's funny, when I was a teenager I always said, "it's clear out in BFE". Well, my Mom started using the term & had no clue what it stood for. I finally had to tell her cause she was using it more & more. Needless to say, she doesn't say it any more.

Long Canyon is pretty cool. Driving under that huge rock is a lot of fun.

Yeah, the first time scared the hell out of me. The other two times were only marginally better.

I'm going to be out there from May 18 thru ~May 28 with 4-5 friends that are coming and going throughout the week. Unfortunately, the guys I'm going to wheel with either: 1. aren't bringing their rigs, or 2. have rigs more set up for overlanding and moderate trails. The moderate trails are fun and we're even going backcountry for 3-4 days.

But, I'm looking for 3-4 rigs that would be interested in running some of the harder trails the weekend prior to Memorial Day ... Rusty Nail, Moab Rim, maybe even Pritchett. If you (or anyone, for that matter) is interested in a 'mini-wranglerforum.com-meet-and-greet-run', let me know.

I've spent ~70 days in Moab wheeling, etc when I was living in Colorado. But, since moving to the east coast 6 years ago have only been back once for a weekend. I can't wait to get back out there for a couple of weeks...

You might be able to get a group together here. Pritchet is out of my league.

My brother and I were in Moab in September on our Harleys; rented a Jeep (only had 400 miles on it!) rode Long Canyon and others had a blast! I bought a 2012 flame red sport in February can't wait to go back to Moab!

It snowed on us half the day today. 85 & sunny saturday, lol. Have fun at the expo & don't spend too much $. You can hit most any trail you want, just wait until the groups are gone. We did Hells Sat & Fins yesterday, Drove to the exit of Pritchets today. Saw some carnage. Will post pics when not soooo tired!

Can't wait to see your pics! I may be back down there next Sat

One more day... Pokey went to the car wash and the nets and tops and stuff go on tomorrow night. Gotta make him look good for his first official appearance at Jeep Safari. Im sure he'll just blend in with so many thousands of jeeps, but he will be happy. I have my camera and an 8 GB card ready so I should gat a lot of pics!

Today did Long Canyon & Rainbow Terrace. Great scenery & some fun spots.

I just bought the Moab Trail Guide Book by Charles A. Wells. What a great book. His attention to detail is amazing. We never would have ventured that far out in the desert without it. It's almost like he is leading the way in that White TJ of his. Complete with pics, maps, odometer readings & waypoints! What a great backcountry tool.
looks like so much fun. SO beautiful.
