Went Wheeling and needed a special fix to make it home.

I went out with some friends today and caught something just right going up a hill to tear my brake line of and have no brakes down the hill. Heres a few pics of the day and my quick fix to get me home.

If the brakes are broken, does that make them breaks?

Glad you got it home!

Looks like you had fun!

I broke my distribution block on my rear axle while in California. Instead of replacing it like a sane person would, I threw a set of Vise-Grips on the rubber line connecting the hard line at the frame to the rear axle and just relied on my front brakes. I tried to order a d-block from the local Jeep dealership, but they wouldn't have one for me for a week and I was getting ready to move back to Kansas. I drove ALL THE WAY FROM REDONDO BEACH, CA to NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS towing a motorcycle on a 5x8 trailer, Jeep loaded to the GILLS with my stuff, all on front brakes. One of my dumber moves, granted, but made it back to Kansas alive and only ran a few people off the road along the way. God Bless Vise-Grips!!

Nothing should help keep you awake on a long drive quite like knowing that you are one vice grip shucking bump from having zero brakes!

Yeah, I was sweating it for the entire trip. Got to Kansas and the local Jeep dealership had a distribution block in stock. Installed it the day after I rolled into town. That pair of Vise-Grips has a special place in my heart now....lol...
