West Michigan Snow Jeeping

Went out with some friends to a local area that they knew about. We got a TON of snow last Friday night and through the day on Saturday, so we figured it was bound to be adventurous. Well, it took only minutes to get into this area and hours to get out, but we all made it out just before dark. I got to get some good experience in 'recovery' today! We used it all; winch, tree savers, recovery straps, snatch block, d-rings, chain, yahoo!

Here's some pics. I've got a little video footage I'm working on uploading. Most of it is us trying to figure out how to winch our way out of a situation but there's a couple videos with some action. I'm sure I'll post them later.

I live in the Grand Haven area, right along the Lake Michigan lakeshore just south of Muskegon. We were wheeling just north of Muskegon near Twin Lake. It was a good time. The Jeeps did pretty sweet in all that powder, even with my all-terrains. The next weekend I went back to the same spot to play a little more. By then snowmobiles had run over it like crazy and it was all hard and flattened. MUCH harder to get through that, cause the Jeep would sink just a bit and have a hard time throwing that hard packed stuff out of the way. So we just did some backroad driving the rest of the day and on one plus side I got to test out my new winch yanking an Avalanche out of the ditch!
