Fuel Pump replacement question

Need to change the FP on my son's 76 CJ-7. It's a straight six and I need to know if there are any special tricks to the job. On a chevy v8 there is a rod that rides on the cam and the pump lever on the pump. If you remove the pump on the chevy without securing the push rod it will drop out of the block. There is a bolt hole on the front of the block that a bolt can be threaded into to secure the push rod.
Is there any similar trick on jeeps or is the pump lever on the pump long enough to ride directly on the cam without using a push rod. Thanks

Double check first, but I'm almost positive the amc six is like my amc 8. The fuel pump has a mechanical pump arm that simply rides along the oblong crank. It takes a bit of pushing to get it on and flush to the block, but it's not too bad. I don't know of any push rods to worry about.
But again, the sixes could be different? Although the pump itself is the same.

This is an easy replacement, nothing special to do, just pull and replace.
