Heat shield transfer and PCV valve problem fix

I transfered my heat shield off my old stock manifold to my Edlebrock manifold per installation instructions. I have heard the reason for doing this is two fold. One is to protect from heat and the other is to prevent oil from splashing up into the PCV suction. I also made and installed baffles under the holes on the heat shield to further eliminate oil being sucked into the PCV valve.

Any advice or direction on this issue?
