Motor Mounts Or ?

While wheeling in Ky, I may have trashed a motor mount but can't really tell for sure visually (4.2L).

During some rocky climbs trans stick started shaking really bad and my clutch linkage (bell crack) disconnected. Reconnected it and same thing. Wratched strapped the engine block to the frame and limped back to trailer.

Best way to Check mounts, just put a bottle jack on the block or ?

take the strap off and rev the engine while watching it..that will probably tell you..probably is motor mounts and/or transmission mount

Sounds like a plan, I know I've got some serious skid damage as well. Plan to convert to hydraulic clutch and upgrade skid plate (as soon as the weather breaks ) Winter in Chicago Area has been brutal this year.

I guess it depends on what type hydraulic clutch setup you have but I know that the stock yj hydraulic clutches seem to give a lot of trouble..mechanical requires a little more leg muscle but I prefer them

Extreme Custom Parts & Fabrication is the kit I Bought, I also like the feel of the mechanical but I hate having one failed part cause another issue. I need to find stronger mounts or softer boulders. (didn't use "rocks" on purpose).

that might be a good kit..I always look at it like the more stuff that's there, the more to give problems..I think new motor and transmission mounts will solve the problem
