Quadra-Trac???

Ok so I got my jeep a couple of weeks ago. Its a 79 cj7. its got the Quadra-Trac. and know I have a tranny leak. I was told by the old owner that I need the tranny fluid from the dealer, and so did the dealer. I was told by auto zone that I can run dexron 3 I was woundring if any body has had luck with this? I dont want to pay to have the tranny done right know so I was going to keep toping it off. I also have another t-case its a bog worner(spelling?) but Im not sure wich one, does any body know how to decode the numbers?
thanks
Chris

Check the tranny dip-stick and it should say what fluid to use(if its the original). The stuff the dealer sells is the same as whatever AutoZone carries.

If it is an auto trans than whatever an autoparts store carries should be fine. If it is a manual then 20w-50 would be what I recommend.
