Refinished my 1979 dated wheels

Afternoon all, Boredom can be a bad thing, or good. I decided to try my hand at refinishing the wheels on my '78 CJ. The rims are dated 8/79 and rusty looking. Figured I could not hurt them. I have only completed the rears. I have shown the fronts as examples of what they looked like.

Thanks guys, Super and Harley this was my first try. I cleaned with simple green and a brush. Then came back with a wire wheel and a scrubby abrassive ball. Two coats of primer (Krylon) and then the white.

Do y'all think what will hold for a bit. I tried to remove as much surface rust as possible. And your right, a little "clean" here and there makes a world of difference.

Open to any suggestions for the front wheels if there is something else I need to do.

When it stops raining here I'll tackle the front two. I'll compare those to the rears and see how they are wearing. Update to follow

Tahoe,

Sorry to bust into your discussion but you sent me a PM and I can't reply to it because you aren't accepting PM's. Please PM me with your email address so we can communicate. Thanks!
