th400 tranny

hey there i am new to jeep but wanted one since i was a kid but my question is about the th400 tranny. i am thinking about buying a cj7 with a th400(auto) and 4:88gears front and rear im wondering what kinda speeds i can be expecting out of this set up any feedback is greatly appreciated thank you

It all depends on what size tires you are running.Being a three speed it won't get incredible mileage.

With 36" tall tires and 4.88 gears, your engine should be turning over about 3200 RPM at 70 MPH.

Here is a link to a calculator that I used.

alright thanks too like i said i am new to the jeep but so far i love um nothing like gettin out throwin the top off and just ridin

btw nice project seen the progress throughout the thread looks like u guys put alot of time and hard work into i t keep the pics coming
