I have a dual stick transfer case in my 81 CJ7, but what mine is the left stick controls the front wheels and the left controls the rear. If you move both sticks to the rear all tires are engaged into high power. And vise versa if I move both sticks to the front all tires are engaged to low. But if I'm just driving on the road I have the front tires in neutral (the middle) ,and the rear in high. And when ever you do put it in 4WD you have to adjust the front hubs to lock them in 4WD, or else your going to have a problem. If I were you I would look online at the transfer case to see what was factory for that year. The reason is because idk if it's like mine or like what the others said. I got my transfer case off a 77CJ. Hope this helps.
