15 inch wheels on a 2014 JKUR?

I just put on a Teraflex 2.5 inch lift so I can run 35s but I want to go down to 15 inch wheels as I like the look and cost savings of the smaller wheel and tire (Fuel Revolver 15 x 8 with 3.75 backspacing). I thought I read these will fit the new JKs as long as the backspacing is 3.75 or less in order to clear the calipers. Can anyone confirm before I go through the hassle and expense of trying this?

I'm in the same boat as you...I really want to run 15s on my JKURX! From what I've read, Level 8 is the way to go . The Level 8 Tracker was specifically made for the JKU, so will clear the caliper with no problems. So I'm told at least...I don't get my JK for a few more months so I wont know for sure.

I found some of the threads I previously thought I saw. The majority of the people that know say 3.75 backspacing on the 15 inch wheels is a must for the newer JKs. I just saw the Unique 252s but then saw a thread that said they didn't fit. So I think I will go with the Fuel Revolvers. Looks like you'll be safe with the Level 8 Tracker.

Here are some threads I found:

15 inch wheels on jku

Can I switch to 15 inch wheels?

15" wheels that are GUARANTEED to work with a JKU

That's where I got my information! I'm working with a fairly tight budget to get my lift, tires, and winch set up on my JKURX but I've decided to be a bit more realistic with the lift. I've read a lot about folks getting some rock damage using 15"s ( Rocks getting caught between the caliper and rim) so I've decided to go with 16"s with the 35"s. It adds about $60 per tire but it sure beats having to replace a broken caliper on the trails.

Well I have the 15 inch Revolvers ordered. I'll know in about a week or so if they fit/how they fit. Which lift are you going with? I put on the TeraFlex 2.5 BB with shock extensions. Decided I'd use my Rubicon shocks and springs for a while and the eventually just swap them out. If everything works out with my wheels and tires that's 2.5 lift, wheels and tires for about $2500.00. Now I got to figure out what to do about mounting my spare tire.

3.75" backspacing should clear the calipers and you can grind the calipers as some do in the worse case.

But think this mod through. The calipers need mass and space for cooling. Grinding them and cramming them in a small space is the worst thing you can do for a critical safety system on your Jeep. You may get away with it most of the time but that one case case when you don't could be a disaster.

Unlike previous generations of smaller Wranglers that could readily run on 15" rims the JK is a too oversized for them. If you really like the donut tire look, then run 1" bigger tires on 16" rims.

I won't grind the calibers if they don't fit. I'll have to try the wheels on prior to mounting the tires to be sure they fit in order to be able to return them. I'll update the thread once I know. Wish someone who has a newer JKU would comment if they are successfully running 15 inch Fuel Revolvers.

Well the 15 inch wheels fit great with no problems and they look great with the 35s.
