Looks great! More pics please if you get a chance. I'm looking to put a set of these on my white 2 door also. Will these work with a 35" tire as well?

@DTD
Do you have the Unique 252 in 15x8 5 on 5 3.75BS
or the CRAGAR version (i forget the number)?
I've seen 07-08 JKs with these on, Do you have any information on the fit on a 2014?
Thanks

We don't stock either of these designs in these sizes at this time but they have the same clearance issues as the Cragar Soft 8's and Unique 297's. Some people choose to modify their brake calipers in order to make them fit or they run wheel spacers. We don't recommend doing either.

Thanks. What sizes of these rims do you carry that don't have clearance issues? I liked dealing with DTD for tires and got them in 2 days, so I'm a fan.

I can't guarantee a bolt up and go fit on any steel wheels for the JK. Size and offset don't seem to matter, the issue lies in how they are made. They are made using a stamped steel process that basically dimples the holes and leaves a flange of metal on the back of the wheel's holes. This flange comes in contact with the brake calipers.

If you are looking for an affordable option and you like the soft 8, hole style wheel, look at the Level 8 Tracker or MB Razor. These are available in a number of sizes for the JK (including 15") They fit like a champ, are lighter weight than the steel options and will look great on your JK.

Thanks! I've been checking out the MB razor actually. Not my first choice, but it still looks pretty good. At least I know it fits where steel wheels are a crap shoot. I'm really looking for a black 15" with a fake bead lock. It really breaks up the 100% black on black and makes it look even more rugged.

The MB Razor is a good looking wheel and the price is great. A member on another forum just posted this picture of the 15" Razor in all Black...

If you are looking for a little more contrast, have you looked at the Black Rock D-Window Alloy in the Black with Machined lip finish? these are styled after another steel wheel design and give a slightly different classic look. Wheel Details - Discount Tire Direct

Here is a better photo of my finished setup. It is a 2012 with the 15x8 rim and 33x12.50 Duratracs. Could not have done it without the guys at this thread and the people at my local store in Indiana. It has a 2 inch spacer lift and a set of JKU springs. Could probably fit a 35 inch tire but I would definitely find a test tire to do a test fit with first.

Hey DT, Im a new owner of a Sahara JK Unlimited and was looking into getting a new set of wheels. With everything I've seen it looks like people are sticking with 15/16" rims but I was thinking 16 or 17 alloys for me. Im planning on putting 33" tires on, and years down the road put 35" on the same rims. Not sure what to do here :s
Also, I would like to have the wheel offset so it sticks out of the fender (I like the looks of it).

This will be my daily driver and at most 10% of the time off-road.
Also i live near Toronto, Ontario so i'm hoping shipping wont hit my wallet too hard lol.

I have found two rims:

Wheel Details - Discount Tire
OR
Level 8 Tracker custom rims

and planning on Duratracs for rubber:
Ratings, reviews and specifications for Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Thanks for the post RGO,

Either of the wheels in your links will work great. Both are wider than your factory wheels and both have a 4.5" backspace so they will give you the wider stance you want, especially when you go with a 35" tire in the future.

As for tires, I'd recommend looking at the 285/70R17 size instead of the 265/70R17 size. 285/70R17's are about 32.8" tall (considered 33") and the 265/70R17's are only about 31.7" tall. The 285's are also wider.

Here's a link: Goodyear Duratrac LT285/70R17.

When it comes to shipping we do ship to Canada for FREE with prepaid duties, taxes, customs fees and brokerage. If you live near the border we can also ship to a US address if you would like. This will save you a decent amount of money.

Give us a ring if we can help you more with a quote(s) anyone here would be happy to help you but if you would like to speak with a fellow wrangler owner call Anthony at 1.888.459.4080 ext 51815 or TC at ext 51826. Both of them know wrangler fitments well.

I have a 2014 stock JK 2dr and wanting to upgrade the wheels & tires also. Would getting the wheels & tires you mentioned above work on stock for me? Also do I ship it to a store? Kind of new on how to order & install from DTD.

Thanks!

Yes, any of the 15" wheel models noted earlier mounted with 33x12.50-15 tires will work on the JK stock. There will be some rubbing however on the lower front valence at full steering wheel lock. This point of contact can easily be trimmed though.

As far as purchasing goes, if you have a Discount Tire or America's Tire in your area I suggest purchasing there. Our local stores are competitive with the on-line market and in-store purchases come with added services we are unable to provide via mail order. If you do not have one of our stores in your area we can ship the assemblies already mounted and balanced to your door or to a shop of your choosing (local shop rates apply).

I have a 2011 JK Sahara Unlimited and am working on a budget due to recent divorce. Running stock right now but want to go 33 or 35 without spacers or lift. What setup with 15's or 16's would be budget friendly? Pricing tires for stock 18's plus having to add spacers is crazy! And I love the fat tire look with 15's. Thanks for any help.with this. Not sure if there is a Discount Tire locally in the Bham AL area.

Hey DTD,

Looking at a set of MB Razor's for my 2012 JKU. I really like the matte black ones, but wanted to go with a 15" rim so I could run 33x12.50 Goodyear Duractracs.
From the original post, it looks like the 15" MB Razors only come in machined/black.

Also, should I go with -19mm or -30mm offset? Don't want to stick out too far, I have stock flares.
Thanks!!

The Razor is available in 15" full Matte Black for your Jk now. This wheel only has one offset option (-19mm) and with a 33x12.50R15 they shouldn't stick out more than about 1". Here's a link: Wheel Details - Discount Tire Direct

@DTD, newbie question here...

I'm the owner of a stock 2014 Sahara Unlimited. I'm interested in tires and wheels, and I'm considering the Duratrac LT285/70R17s on MB TKO 16s. 2 questions....

Do I need to consider a lift or will they fit stock? The jeep is my wife's DD with some off roading in mud and sand.

Can we upgrade to 35s at some point on those rims?

Thanks in advance...

Absolutely. The 17x8.5 ET-6 MB TKO has 4.5" of backspace which accommodates 35" tall tires.

Just curious. You are on a thread bout 15" rims where people are talking about the benefit of 15" rims and the cost savings, but you are asking about standard rim sizes? If you are changing rims you can save a lot by going with 15's. The only drawback is the availability of 35's for 15 rims if you decide to go that way later.

Looks great ! What size lift do you have on it to fit the 35's?

Since I just got mine, I am thinking of the future!

Hey DT. Thanks for your contributions to the threads here on WF. I've got another question I can't find an answer for. I'm shopping for a new set of rims and tires for my 2013 JKU. Ideally, I'd like the edge of the tire tread to be flush with the fender. I also want to find the lightest set up I can. (Debating 32 or 33") What rim offset would you recommend?

I'd recommend looking into a 16" wheel and tire combo. There are good offset options for wheels in 16" that will help give you the stance you are looking for. (16x8 with a 0mm or 16x8.5 with a +18mm offset) When it comes to tires there is a great selection in 285/75R16 (about 33"x11.25"), weights very but the lightest tire I show in this size is the Bridgestone Dueller A/S Revo 2 at about 48lbs each (ship weight).

Here's a few links to browse your options. We are wrapping up a Pre 4th of July sale today so if you are serious about buying today give us a call. We'll be happy to build a few wheel and tire packages for you and we can explain all the rebates that may apply. Please call us at 1.888.459.4080.

285/75R16 Tire options

16" Wheels for Jeep Wrangler - Not all the wheels listed above will give you the stance you are looking for, please call us if you need additional help.
