Here's some pictures of the MB72 15x8 -19mm offset. They fit really well and don't need spacers.

(sorry for the glare on the middle one, and you'll notice the Mud Grapplers on one side, We bolted these on to test fit.)

MB 72 15x8 -19mm offset (about 3.75"BS)
35x12.50/15 Goodyear MTR's
4.5" lift

I am looking to get this wheel with Goodyear MT/R w/Kevlar 33/12.5/15

Have the Kelars on stock 17 wheels with spacers right now but won't to get rid of spacers and this combo should be about the same price as the 17's were by themselves.

What would be the total price for 5 black mb72 wheels and 33 GY kevlar combo?

Is there any difference in offset/back spacing from 15" to 16"? I'm about to pull trigger on 5 MB 72 16" with Falken Rocky mountains but the guy at discount tire said back spacing would set the tire out REALLY wide with 16". Can anyone help me figure this out please

The 15x8 ET-19 MB72 has 3.75" of backspace. The 16x8.5 ET-6 MB72 has 4.5" of backspace.

The 15x8 MB72 will extend out about .25" further than the 16x8.5 MB72.

That being said, here's how far past the fender the 15x8 ET-19 (3.75" BS) MB72 sits. The 16x8.5 will sit .25" further towards the inside.

Thanks for posting all the great info & pics Discount!!

Are you familiar with and can you get Ion wheels. Wondering if you know if the following wheel will fit the 07 JK. It's listed as a 1/2 ton gmc wheel but has a 5 on 5 bolt pattern.

Ion 171 polished. product # io171-5873P

5 on 5 bolt pattern

-27mm offset

3 7/16 backspacing

Thanks you Sir.

Here is a pick I have saved on my phone. I believe these are the 171s and I know they are 15". This is from a user over at JK-F. Gimme a sec and I'll see if I can find his posting over there with all his details.

OK. Found the post. They are actually Ion 170s, not 171s. But the only difference appears to be the lock ring, so I'm betting that they will fit just fine. I'm also betting that DTD will be able to order them in for you, as I don't believe they carry them. Here's a couple more pics. And, since you have a Red Rock, it should give you a good indication of how they will look on your rig.

And, just because I'm such a nice guy ( ), I found these pics of a 2dr on the 15" Ion 171s. And here is a link to that thread.

And a good shot to show you how the backspacing will work out.

We do not stock Ion Alloy wheels but we can special order their 171 in for you. We can not guarantee the 15x8 fitment however as we are unable to test fit this model. According to the post 4fit found though, they should work.

That being said, our current mail order price on this model/size in the polished finish is $115.00 per wheel with FREE delivery.

Another model you should consider that we carry is the Level 8 Tracker. This model is very similar in style and comes in size 15x8 with a -30mm offset. Right now we are offering an instant $40.00 discount with the purchase of a new set. Here's the link with more details:

Level 8 Tracker custom rims

Dang 4FIT, thanks for doing all the research & taking the time to post all of that in here. I really appreciate it.
I like that look. Those things really "pop" for a polished wheel. Going to have to keep em clean for sure.

I realize that I'm old enough to be most of you Guys' Dad. But this is what we did back in the 70's. Craigers or polished aluminum 5 slot mags, lol. Black wheels are fine, they look purposful & mean on a jeep. I just think the wheel get's lost in the tire & shaded wheel well.

The webpage I was on didn't even list JK's. Just 1/2 ton GMC's. They'd prolly sell more of these wheels if they added JK to the web page.

Thanks again bro!!!

Would be nice to see the wheels next to one another. I actually went to Discount on Saturday to get my hands on the polished level 8's, none in stock.
I think the -30 offset would pull the tire in a bit better than the -27. Better for the bearings.
Thanks DTD!

Unfortunately, you have it backwards. The more negative the offset, the shallower the backspace, the further out from the vehicle the wheel will sit, when dealing with the same rim width of course. The -27 offset on the 8" rim would be in the 3.4" range, while the -30 offset would be in the 3.3" range. So, not a huge difference between those two. Offset is the measurement from the center line of the wheel to the mounting surface. So, the more negative the number, the closer the mounting surface is to the rear of the wheel, thereby decreasing the amount of backspacing.

Here are a few pics I found of someone running the 15x8 Trackers. I really love the look of this wheel, but the shallow backspace was enough to throw me off of them and cancel the order. Went with black 16" Strike 5s instead. Anyhow, on with the pics. This guy has them mounted on 35x12.5 MTR-Ks.

Brain Fart on the offset. You are correct. I certainly want to tuck my tire inside the fender as much as possible, however, I am going down the spacer road right now due to rubbing in the rear at full flex. I want plenty of clearance.

So, the -30 offset of the Level 8's scared you off. The -27 on the 8 inch wheel would be slightly better. Is that still out of your comfort range? Were you worried about mud flipping up. looks, or increased bearing wear?
Just wondering how bad the -27's would be & what would be optimum w/o ANY rubbing at full flex?

The OP DTD showed -19. Looks like that is pretty perfect A?

Thanks

Actually, all of those are what swayed me away from them. Just didn't think I would be happy in the long run.

The MB72s in the OP have 3.75" of backspace. That is certainly better than the other two. I've always considered that to be borderline, which makes the fact that I went as far as to order the Trackers even more perplexing. However, in the 15" diameter rim world, most of them have that 3.75" backspacing, with only a few exceptions. For example, the Black Rock D-Windows (aka 909s) have -12 offset, which would be 4.0" backspace.

Here is a shot of MTH's rig. He is running the Black Rock 909s (4" BS) and 33x12.5x15 Duratracs.

Now here is a shot of $teve-o's newly mounted MB TKOs (3.75" BS) on the same tire (DT 33x12.5x15). These wheels have the same backspacing as the MB72s in the OP, which is why I am using them as an example.

You can see that the TKOs definitely stick out further.

While there is no definitive "magic number" for backspacing for the JKs, the general consensus seems to be that 4.5" of backspacing is about perfect. You are only going to find that on 16"+ rims.

That post was 10 months ago. The price of tires has gone up substantially over that period of time.

Thanks for posting again. Lot's of great info here. Might have to go with a 16 as well. Dang I love the looks of a 35 on a 15 tho!!!
