15" to 17" rims

Just got my 2001 Wrangler sport. Wanted to put some new tires on. Can get some BF Goodrich tires that fit on 17" rims but my 2001 wrangler has 15" rims. Do they have 17" rims that will fit on the bolt spacing for the 15" set-up. Also will I need a lift so the tires will fit. Is it even worth it?

Well, assuming you found a deal on the stock JK 255/75/17's then yes you need some lift to fit them and still flex. 2" or more. Yes you can buy aftermarket wheels with the 5x4.5 bolt pattern you need for a TJ or you can put JK wheels on it if you get 5x5 to 5x4.5 adapters.

I got the BF goodrich Baja Champion mud-terrian T/A LT 255/75 R17 and Jeep rims for $500.00. I figured with the lift, adapters and tires/rims I'm into it for 1,300. I might just be cheaper to buy new tires to fit the rims I have. Like the look of the bigger tires but worried about the ride and proformance with them on.

You can do it for less than 1300.... if you're creative Rough Country hub centric adapters (I think they have them) w/forum discount run $116 shipped, + $250 for a decent lift + $500 wheels and tires= $886.00 Include beer and pizza for help with lift, and you're still under $1k.....

But yeah, depending on your gearing you may want to stay closer to stock.. In which case you can get some 31's and call it done for a few hundred less...

Those tires are only 32" tall so you won't need much lift to fit them comfortably. Now the wheels...Are they 5x4.5 bolt pattern or 5x5.5 bolt pattern? This would be 5 lug 4.5" apart on the cross pattern.
