15" wheels on 2008 JK

I am new to this forum and tried to search for my answer but couldn't find anything. Will 15" wheels fit on a 2008 JK wrangler and if so , what backspace would I need?
Thanks,
JIM

You need 3.75" bs to clear the calipers on a JK. You may still have to grind them some, depends on the wheel.

Welcome to the forum, btw

With reguards to the calipers, do you need more bs or just go with a 16" wheel? in other words will a 16" wheel with 3.75" bs fit? or can you still go with the 15" wheel but a 4" (or more) bs?

16" with any BS will clear

Unless I have backspacing completely bass ackwards (it's possible), less backspacing would allow more room for calipers.

It would also increase the leverage your tire has on the axle... probably not a good thing.

15" wheels on a JK are not a great idea !!

The price diff. savings, between them and 16" wheels/tires is minimal-

Please don't say "I need the additional sidewall" that 15' wheels offer-YOU DON"T and

15" wheels are more subject to losing balance weights IF, the interal weights are used, so there goes any cost savings and

All Rubi/Sahara takeoff sales are for 16'/17" wheels/tires--

Maybe we just hate "rims" 15 is a better idea than 20...

I'd mostly rather have 15's so I can buy tires in English.

They also look a lot better. A whole lotta people spend more on rims than they bought the car for so they'll look better...

Thanks Jimbo, trying to decide on some new wheels and 18s are just wrong so I wanted to know best size for the '10 Sahara. 16" wheels and new tires will be cheaper than new tires for my 18s and more functional.

Yea and like I said, if you're staying with stockers (32"), the rubi take-offs are always a good bet--

You can always Craiglist your 18"/tires for some decent amount and they can move fast and FREE !!

Good luck
