15x7 wheels, 31x10.5x15 tires

I have a 2000 TJ still stock, 4.0L, 3spd Auto, I have 15x7" Gambler wheels with 30x9.5x15 tires on it. I'd like to keep the rims and go to 31x10.5x15 tires. Are the rims going to be big enough for the 31x10.5s, and will I need spacers for rubbing issues? also, how much will the 31's change my power & speedometer reading?
Thanks,

Speed-o will probably be ~2-3MPH off. The wider tires with the stock wheels may cause some rubbing issues... you can put some spacers behind the steering stops to help, but some cheap wheels with the correct backspacing will help even more so.

^^^ x2! Pretty sure the 10.5's won't be a problem on 7" rims, but I don't know what the bs is on Gamblers. As long as it's 5.5" or less you'll be fine. You can run 10.5's on Canyons no problem, their bs is 5.5".

Thanks for the info. I do plan on getting new wheels (with proper BS) eventually. I just can't swing 'em both at the same time. So I was gonna do tires first. Is there much of a loss of MPG?

What's the bs on your gamblers? You won't loose enough mpg's to notice probably, only going up one size. Your speedo will be about 2mph too slow, thus your odo will be off as well... when you have 693.5 revs it will register 671.6.... Figure your mpgs accordingly.

Went from 235's to 31's speedo 30- actual 32 40- actual 43 50- actual 54, seems to top out at anything past 65 is 5 miles over.
