265/75/16 on stock JK Steelies?

Is it possible to run 265/75/16s on the stock 2010 2 door JK steel wheels? The tires that are on it look so wimpy, but would rather not get new wheels if its not necessary. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't really see anything being a problem, but I've never done much with tires either. I'm sure SOMEONE on here has done this combination before. I'm kinda wondering if it would even look alright or not.

a taller tire will always look better. the stock wheel combo looks way to small on the JKs
there are plenty of people running that size tire. ive just never paid to much attention to which wheels they were running. but you should be fine.

Unless someone GAVE you the 265/75x16 tires, why wouild you want to use them, I haven't used any steel rims for over 45 years, do the JK steelies actually come in 16" ???

Why don't you checkout some JK Rubi 32"/Moab wheel takeoffs--look better and work better

The 265 /75 series will only be about 30 1/4" tall on your JK and the Rubi takeoffs will be about 31 1/4" and the Moabs would look better !!

well I had some laying around. I just got the JK and I am fresh out of college so I don't have a TON of money to throw at it, so I was just looking for something to get me by until I could afford new wheels to go with it. Sorry for being unreasonable.

Yeah, they really are 16" haha. What did the steel wheels used to be? If I DID find some stock alloys and BFG KMs off of a 2010 Rubicon would they bolt right on without rubbing issues?

Wow, yea steelies used to be and still are 15", which most Rock Crawlers use, because they allow more sidewall flexing on bigger tires (38/40")

If you'll look at craigs list, ebay and other forums, you'll find 2007 thru 2010 Rubi takeoffs (32" tires and MOAB wheels) for anywhere from $300 to $800 bucks (5) and they'll all fit your jeep

They won't require any mods to your rig, for their use !!

Good luck

Yeah, I missed out, before I got the Jeep there were a set of 5 Rubi tearoffs with 3K miles on them for $500, but didn't wanna commit to them before I got the Wrangler, then they were gone. But I found another set slightly more expensive, and only semi local, (bout 2 1/2 hours away) that I may look into. Thanks for the help Jimbo, and man, you reply quick!

I'm going to a 265/75R16, the GY Duratrac tire measures out at 31.7x10.5x16. that's pretty close to a 32" tire. I'm just saying.

There a high percentage of jeepers that don't do heavier mods to their jeeps and the Rubi takeoff stuff is really attactrive--if you see some available--JUMP ONEM !!

Good luck

I only reply fast, because I don't work and I deal on my PC all day, with breaks for --THINGS--

When I'm in Nevada and not out somewhere on my Jeep, I have a PC there too

Good luck
