31X10.50s on stock wheels? 94 2.5L

I'm sure this question's been asked many times before, and I'm 85% certain it will be road safe...But just to make sure, it can be done, safely, correct? I know 4 inches wider in the tire than the wheel is pushing it... but I believe the wheels are either 7.5 or 7, which isn't 4 in either case... But then, I could be wrong, and they could be 8's. I never really bothered to find out...

a 31x10.5 is fine on a 15x7 or 15x8 wheel.
