33's with a 2.5 litre engine

I guess I have an opinion type question. I have a wrangler with a 2.5 and a 4 inch lift. I currently am running 32's but I am also in desperate need of tires as my current ones are dry rotted.. if I were to out 33's on this little 4 cyl would it drag the engine down too much and would I still be effective in snow and or if I wanted to take it down a mild trail??

Trails and snow shouldn't really be a concern...trails are slow And you generally drive slower in snow anyway.

The main issue is the ability to go up hills on the hwy...you'll be a dog, especially if you've got an auto, but you'd be fine in town or in trails.

I run 35's on my 99 2.5 but rarely ever go on the hwy...only when going to a trail. I also run 4.88s and have a manual so it's doable.

Good luck with your decision

I have 35's on my 2.5 L and can maintain 65 on the highway (stock gearing by the way)
