4.5 Backspacing

How much will it widen the turning radius if I shim the stops to make some 37x12.50R17 stt's not rub? I am having a heck of a time trying to find a black rim I like that is under 4.5". Since I am buying new wheels I hate to have to buy adapters. 2012 rubicon.

I thought JK wheels have like 6" of back spacing. If so a 4.5 backspacing should be MORE then enough to run a 12.5 wide wheel.

Scoob's just about got it--the stockers are around 6.25". I'd think 4.5" of backspacing would do it.

Good, thats what I thought, but the searching I did was saying otherwise. I am pretty sure some of the responses where towards jk's, but maybe they were tj threads.

Most likely TJ threads. I run a 4.5 back space on a 16" rim. Fitting a 12.5 tire would be cutting it pretty close.
