OK, so I have a set of Black AEV Pintlers on BACKORDER….! I have been looking at AEV's Savegre wheels since then and they are growing on me. I really hated them at first, but now that I am waiting on my Pintlers I have been looking at more jeeps sporting these Savegre wheels and it is making me want them instead. I see these as a very unique and stronger wheel.
I know that a sane person with a daily driver/weekend warrior would/should pick the lighter Pintler, but I am seriously considering cancelling my order and getting the AEV Savegre.
What do you guys think?
I think those weights are incorrect - At least according to what I read from Airpark jeep a few months ago. I believe they said the Pintler was 25lbs and Savegre was 31 lbs. Thats certainly not gospel....
IMO, the Pintlers are definitely more OEM looking and traditional. They look factory to me; not so much the Savegres. But, I'm like you, the Savegres have really grown on me. And, now that argent is available, I've been thinking about picking up a set ... But, I can't decide, either.
Well, after seeing yet another picture of a jeep with AEV Savegre wheels I just broke down. I could not take it any more.....
I called Quadratec and had them swap my order for the AEV Pintlers to the AEV Savegre wheels! They ARE in stock and will be on their way shortly!! Now I can stop looking at jeep pictures! Just kidding...
I am definitely not sane! But I will have some bad a$$ wheels on my jeep!
These things(Savegre) are not 30lbs....mine will be delivered tomorrow and the shipping weight per box says 25lbs.
I would put 25lbs on the shipping doc if I was paying the shipping too... Just saying.
I forgot to weigh mine before install.
But I got 3 different guys from AEV who e-mailed me with the some similar numbers so...
1st e-mail -
"I show 27lbs for the Pintler and 31lbs for the Savegre.
2nd e-mail -
"The pintler is 27 pounds. And the Savegre is 35.7 pounds."
3rd e-mail -
"JK Pintler wheel 27 lbs.
TJ Pintler wheel 29.8lbs
JK Savagre wheel 35.7 lbs.
TJ Savagre wheel 38.8 lbs."
So they vary...
Let us know how much they really weigh when you get them!
Here they are! 32LBS on a crappy bathroom scale in the box.
Stock rubicon wheel weight anyone know for sure? Just wondering for sure how much of a difference these may be. Love these wheels, but would like to get a lighter or equal wheel in weight to the stock ones if I am going to buy a new set.
