Alloy vs steel rims

Anyone have any ideas about the differences between the 2? Thinking about changing the wheels on my jeep, just don't know the difference. I do not off -road but would like that look. What do u think?

As far as I know, alloys are more expensive, but lighter. If you're putting larger tires on though, probably the difference in weight will be nul. I'd like to know which is stronger though, would off-roaring ding up an alloy more than a steel! There's probably a better selection of alloys than steel.
