I'm looking to get new wheels and tires for my 2012 JK Sport. I'd like black rims to go with 33" duratracs. By one of the other forum posters on this site I was pointed toward Discount Tire Direct. I see they have a tire called MB Wheels TKO in matte black...but no picture. I tired finding them using google but no luck. anyone have a set yet or any pics? The MB 72s are nice but I'm not too crazy about all the round holes. Maybe the MB Wheels Chaos....
I don't have the rims you like (I went with the mb 72), but I have the 33x12.50x15 duratracs. I think your combo will look good, and discount tire is awesome, I've had good luck doing business with them, and they have great customer service. I put up some before and after photos of my 2010 sport in case you wanted to see what duratracs look like on a wrangler similar to your own. you might have to click on the attachments to see them, sorry about that. cheers! :wavey:

Oh yeah! that looks awesome! Thanks for posting those. I'm definitely going to be getting those 33" Duratracs. Ill be calling DTD tomorrow about both the rims and tires!
Thanks, I am really happy with the tires and the overall setup. I wouldn't usually go with Goodyear tires, but they nailed it with the Duratrac. When you order from DTD, make sure you check the invoice they email you after you make your purchase. Specifically, look at the bolt pattern listed with your wheels, you'll need 5-5" (DTD labels it 5-127mm; same thing) for your JK. When I ordered my tires and wheels from them, they sent me a bolt pattern of 5-114.3mm (which fits TJ's, but not JK's), but I didn't realize it until I had unwrapped all 5 tires in my garage . DTD sorted it all out at no expense to me, I just thought I'd make you aware of potential pitfalls so you can avoid the headache. :thumb:
Thank you for the kind words JKralph. We are human and make mistakes but what separates us from other companies is how we fix our mistakes. We appreciate your continued support!
As far as the picture goes for the TKO, this is just a picture. We do not take a picture of the same wheel in every bolt pattern (although we probably should). When you order with us, we'll confirm the correct bolt pattern for your application before we finalize the order. Like JKralph noted, the JK bolt pattern is 5-127 (5-5).
zoso1972 asked before I could - I like the TKO, but want to make sure it'll fit over the calipers on a '12. Can you PM me a price on 4 33-12.50/15 w/ MB TKO, to 31523? No certificates and TL member.
Dang yea I didnt even think about if it would affect the calipers. I went to the DTD website, clicked on wheels and put in 2012 JK but only the Cherokee option came up. So I went with the 2011 JK sport, which comes stock with 16" wheels. (should be the same for the 2012 if im not mistaking) and the MB wheels TKO was on the list for wheels. Should work! Yeah, DTD posted before what 15" wheels are confirmed to clear the calipers. Since the TKO appears to be a new wheel, I was hoping to get the confirmation that it would clear also.
So in reading some other threads on this forum...I figure sooner or later I'll have to get a lift/spacers and also get a stronger spare tire carrier. Ouch$$ :-/
Check the part number on your springs. You might be able to get up to 2" just be switching those out. Many people here have upgraded to 19 front/60 rear. Stock springs have run around 14/54, depending on model. This is going to be my first "serious" mod. The little mods, like grab handles, antenna, gas cap cover, etc can be done at random with less effect on your wallet.
BUT, I think there's a logical progression for the "serious" mods. 1. suspension 2. tires 3. bumpers. If I upgrade my springs first, then I can better judge what size tire I will want in the end. Bumpers are supported by the suspension and wheels, so adding that weight last makes sense (at least to me.)
Don't know if that helped you, or anyone else at similar stages of moddum, but organizing the process into steps instead of all at once might just clear some issues.

With 33s, especially light ones like the Duratracs, your stock spare carrier should be fine. Many here running that setup without issue. For better piece of mind, you cam always add the Daystar extended bumpstops which will keep the spare from jaring around.
As for the lift, if you take it offroad and get into some decent articulation, yes, you will rub your flares without a lift. But, hey, budget boosts are cheap, easy to install, and work just fine for many folks.
He was literally wheeling them out to the floor when I went in. Put tires on the minivan for the wife and mine was next and saw them and said, nope-- order em
Not sure where you are in the company, but if your on the top of the totem pole I just want to let you know how vital the new discount tire store in Alcoa, TN is. I'm a general manager of a business next door and could not ask for better neighbors. The management (Joel R)and his team is an asset to our community, and I will not buy another tire if it's not from him.
No such luck for me. They didn't have any in stock to see in person. They also couldn't come close to matching the price I received via pm here, so I will be ordering them that way.
Since you work right next door to DT, mind walking back over there and taking a couple pics of the wheel if you get a chance and its not an inconvenience?

Thanks for the pic! Happen to know what size those are? I know they offer then in 15" all the way to 18". Just curious which those are. Thanks again for the pic!
17 inches. No 15 in stock, or they would be rolling on my jeep already. They look even better in person
