Looking into buying Federal Couragia M/T's , found them for 135.00 each on line! They have the look I'm looking for. I was considering the Goodyear Duratrac's but they price out at 200.00 each!!! just wondering if anyone had good/bad experience with federal tires?

My buddy just bought the Federal Couragia M/T's in 285/70r17 and a week later I bought the Goodyear Duratrac's in 275/70r18. Both are almost equal in size and width and both most certainly look awesome. We've both had them on for approximately 6 months now and they both seem to be wearing perfectly. HOWEVER, I am currently thinking of taking a hit and selling my Duratrac's for the Couragia's because they look soo much more aggressive. Don't get me wrong, the Duratrac's look amazing, they really do, but everytime I am parked next to my buddies I find myself wanted the Couragia's for that aggressive M/T tread pattern. The Couragia's are also so reasonably priced that I'm thinking of moving up to a 35" for the same price I payed for my 33" Duratrac's. The only negative point I can think to make about the Couragia's is that they are a bit louder than my Duratrac's. All in all, I'd go with the Couraigia's. Even though Federal might not be the most glamorous name in the tire game, I can personally attest to the fact that they look great, wear well, and are great on & offroad.

My brother has 35x12.50 on his Chevy and I wanted to get them for my jeep. They have an aggressive look and are really cost effective. They are a little heavy compared to most tires such as the duratrac but they also have a 50k warranty I believe. I would go for it.

About 7,000 miles now - no issues at all. Good performance in mud, rocks, etc. If loud "singing" tires bother you then these will definitely bother you - they are loud. These may be a good deal at their price point. I'm liking them so far. I wish they made a 33x12.50R18 though. I'm not quite ready to jump to 35s on my daily driver.

I don't know about the 10ply but I have a buddy with them 35x12.50x17s he really likes them, he's got a JKU. They are loud but are great on the trails and clean out easy, good on road and in rain

I know this thread is old, oh well. I have 35x12.8x18 right now with about 40k on them. They still have about 30% or so left on them. I'm going to get new wheels in the spring and go to a 37. I just found a deal on 37x12.5x17 for a set of 5 for $900. I think I would be stupid not to buy them.

Does anyone know if there was a certain batch or date stamp to stay away from? I have read some bad reviews too, but the tires I currently have have been great.
