backspacing/ offset question

quick question on a backspacing/offset question. have just purchased tires and am now looking at rims. i have my eye on a set of XD series with Offset: 18mm
Backspacing: 5.70". would that be too much on a stock JK? i know 4.5 is optimal back spacing but wasn't sure if the 18mm combined with the BS would be too much. any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You definitely need the - 12mm offset in that wheel. That gives you a 4.52 backspace. Not sure what you mean by backspace with offset. You don't combine those numbers. They are just two different ways to state the wheel dimensions. Like mm and inches are different ways to measure things.
