I have read all the posts I can find on the subject and didn't find much except questions about fitting issues. I have a 2012 JKU with pro comp 16x8 wheels and 4.25 back space, and air lift bags in all four coils that gives me about 1.5" to 2" of lift. I am a full time hunter and used my jeep offroad almost everyday. Our terrain is Texas coastal bend and ranges from black gumbo mud to muddy sandy soil. Some rocky stuff but not crawling mostly just soccer size rocks when there are no roads. We also drive on a lot of places that have no roads and drive over brush and thorns about belly high. I also drive a lot of highway and usually drive 45 minutes at 70/75mph to get to where we are working. My question is what will be the most effective size tire for my needs. A 255/85/16 or a 305/70/16. All my Aussie friends say skinny is better offroad and most my American friends say wider is better.
