Hello all! I am trying to decide on which steel "D" window wheels to get for my TJ once I can afford a suspension lift and new tires.
I personally can't find an alloy wheel that I like and that is US made so I am looking at these steel wheels. Even though steel wheels are heavier and can rust (Thankfully i'm in Texas where there is no salt), at least they are way cheaper and also I love how they look personally.
These are the 2 wheels in question:
Cragar 342 series: Cragar 3425812 - CRAGAR Series 342 Black "D" Window Wheel for Jeep® Vehicles with 5x4.5 Bolt Pattern - Quadratec
ProComp 51 series: Pro Comp 51-5165 - Pro Comp Series 51 Rock Crawler Xtreme 1-Piece Gloss Black Steel for Vehicles with 5x4.5 Bolt Patterns - Quadratec
They both are identical in look, but I was curious as to what the quality of the wheels are compared to each other? Does any body have these that could say if they've encountered problems with the Cragars or the ProComps?
Both companies say that they are made in the US, but Cragar is a much older and better seeming company than ProComp. Anybody think Cragar is an outsourcing company or is not to be dealt with? What about ProComp?
