Thanks. I only put about 5,000 miles per year on my JKU and so I'll be driving and looking at my tire decision for a looong time. I'm down to a decision between these Cepeks, Mastercrafts and Toyos. I'm open to tie breaking opinions
i'll be buying these soon also. looks to be about $1150 for 5 delivered. Anyone have any negative comments yet? Have only heard positive early reviews.
How are you liking your tires after some use? What lift height are you?
I have a 2013, just getting ready to do a 2.5" lift, 17" Fuel Krank wheels and 315/70R17 tires. I am thinking the 2 ply make good sense for what I do. Also, did you stock tire carrier handle them, or did you go aftermarket?
so to the ppl that have been running these for a bit what do you think?! i'm still looking to consider the 315/75/16's for my jk. i like the narrow advertised width and the light weight. normally i would say lighter generally equals weaker sidewalls but with this supposed new technology here i'm very interested. thanks for any feedback from experienced users!
So Im curious, if you get the Pro's in an E rated version are they two or three ply? Are they supposed to still be lighter and better ride than other E rated tires?
Im looking at the 295/70/18 size which would be a 34" and is showing a weight of only 64 lbs.. I was considering 33s but if I can do a 34" and keep it around that weight It should not affect driveability much I wouldn't think and should look good..Im intrigued..
So Woodchip, how do these ride? Any complaints? I watched a YouTube vid of these and they showed a lot of wear to them after only 1,200 miles. They also said they made his truck vibrate and shake the steering wheel. I'm hoping that it was just an installation mistake or they weren't balanced properly. Looking for some feedback from someone who actually has them on a wrangler. Currently looking at the same set up and size.
Ive been looking at these as a lighter weight tire comparable to the STT Pro based on the load range D vs the Pros E.
After looking at the specs though, in a 315/70r17 there's only a 4 pounds difference. I knows there's a little more to it than that but with them both being Cooper tires I found it odd. Anyone compared these side by side?
I would love to hear how these tires are doing in real world experiences as well. I'm thinking about ordering them myself. I'm down to these or MT ATZp3. I know it's not apples to apples, but after all the reading I've done, the ATZ is an excellent tire. I can't find too much on these anywhere.
I'm really liking mine. I'm running them in a 35x12.5.15 and they've exceeded my expectations on hard pack snow and ice. They're still a mud tire but the siping and lug spacing must be doing their thing. Best mud tire I've driven on in the winter yet. I can't really comment on wear as I've only got about 3k miles on them.
Aired down to 15psi, not a lot of bulge but my Yeep is pretty light.
I didn't think we were playing very hard but I took a sizable chunk out of one of the lugs their first time out.

That's a pretty nasty gash. It look like it delaminated all the way across at the level of one of those "steps" in the tread block. Those steps look odd to me and I was wondering if they would cause an issue. Hopefully that tear in the tread will be an isolated incident.
It's good to hear that you like them in the snow. Do you have an opinion on them in the rain or standing puddles on the road? Around where I live there are a lot of ruts in the blacktop that can turn into small streams in the rain and you need to be careful.
I have to make a purchase in about two weeks and I'm still on the fence between these and the Mickey's.
Unfortunately I can't comment much on their rain performance. Wyoming tends to only have 2 seasons, Winter and HOT, aka Summer. The little bit of rain I've driven in has been uneventful though.
I found these on tirebuyer.com for about $1,200 for a set of 5 (315/70/17) with free shipping. This something I should jump on? The only thing is that it may be a few months before I can put them on.
4wd.com is having a sale now and you may find them cheaper there. They have the 35/12.50r15 for around $205. I may get a set of 15x10 Aero red chrome wheels with 4.5" bs from Summit.
sooo....noisy or not? hearing they don't sound like a traditional mud tire. can anyone verify this? i've been researching tires for a long time now and need to make a decision. the extreme country is at the top of my list - just wanted to verify road noise isn't crazy.
Not noisy. They're quieter than the BFG KM2's I was running and that's not a loud tire either. With the top and doors off I don't hear the tires over the wind noise. There are very few concrete / asphalt surfaces that I hear the tires at all.
Got mine in March of this year mine are 35x12.50x15s fine in hard rain driving, just amazing off road mud sand wet rocks, it's my only vehicle. Daily drive it wheel it on the weekends, they are a little louder than my Duratracs were, but not obnoxious, still hear stereo fine. Holding up very well.
Is this a steel-clad tire? I couldn't find details on the website. I heard that some of the heavy tires cause tire pressure sensors to go wonky!
