Doing my research again...any others use these tires, maybe on a TJ? (DC extreme terrains). I'm looking for them in 33 10.50 on 15 inch wheel for my TJ. The price seems very good, but wondering about performance on and off road. I'm replacing Hankook Dynapro ATM's which have been great for long commute in rain/snow, but now the jeep is driven primarily on weekends and lifted a bit more.
I have a 2000 TJ, I've had my Extreme Country's almost a year, mine are 35x12.50x15s. I'm very pleased with them! Very good on dry road and in rainy driving conditions, and frickin awesome on the trails! Sand mud water it's all good! They do have some road noise, but not so loud that you can't have conversations or listen to music.
Ran the Morrison Trail near Cody, Wy a couple of weeks ago. Another chunk of tread missing. BUT, my buddy chewed up his new Toyo MT's on the same trail so I don't think I can blame the tires. My overall impressions of the tires are still great and I'm pondering a set for my DD F150.
Thanks for all of the review note guys. I'm on my final approach in deciding on which tire to get, and I think I have a front runner now.
So if I have this correct, they run great on dry road, have a min-moderate noise level, run well in rain, great in snow, and pictures above show their handling in mud and rock fairly well.... sounds like a perfect date. Is there a catch??
I guess my only other question is, 17x9 or 20x10 wheels? Any thoughts?
17x9 for the reasons stated above. Less weight, typically a little lower cost but, for me, the most important is the extra sidewall for a better ride and better performance off-road when aired down.
The bigger the wheel the more weight and less cushion of the tire, plus if you go with a 16x8" wheel, tire prices are cheaper, and you can air down more and still maintain good bead contact.

People have mentioned that the Dick Cepek Extreme Country tires are somewhat quiet on road but I was wondering if anyone can compare them to the noise level of the Toyo open country m/t? I have had Toyo's on my F250 for years and they are barely noticeable. If these are around the same noise level or slightly more I might get these instead of the Toyo m/t due to the difference in weight. This will be mostly a DD during the week with trails on the weekends. Thanks.
Somewhat quiet isn't the term I'd use, they have a nice bit of road noise. Personally I really like the way they sound, but it's not so loud that you can't hear the sound system, or a conversation with the windows down. I've had mine for a year they're wearing very well, great road traction even wet weather driving. And awesome on the trails
Just installed a set (35X12.5X15) yesterday on my 2000 sport. What pressure are those with these running on the street. Mine came from balancing at 35. I immediately dropped to 26 and they seem not bad but to save time in fine tuning I am looking for opinions
I'm on the fence regarding the 295 vs 315's. On one hand the 295's fit a stock wheel so anyone will mount it, it's probably fine with 3.73's and there is no need to re-gear, and I personally like that it's 11.5' wide vs 12.5' so fitment is better. What I like about the 315's is that they are taller for ground clearance. My cents...
I bought the 315/70R17 Dick Cepek Extreme Country tires for my 2017 Rubicon Hard Rock 2dr JK. I have been very happy with this tire. It is not very noisy for a Mud/Snow tire and it tracks nicely on the road. I have about 1,000 miles on them so far and run them on the road at 29 psi.
I have not had them in the mud yet, but we had an 8" snow recently and I was extremely impressed with the performance.
I get a lot of compliments on the aggressive looks of the tire. I couldn't be happier and I would recommend friends to purchase the tire.
Had the 315 70 17s for about 2 weeks now. I put them on the OEM Moab 17inch wheel that came with my sport. The tire shop was more worried about rubbing than fitting on the rim and they did not say anything about issues they ran into balancing them. But then I found they put some weights on the outside of my wheels. My worry is knocking these off while rock climbing. Anyone else run into this issue? I need to know if I should take them to another shop for a proper balancing for off road purposes. This is my DD if that tells you anything.
New to the Forum. Review on Dick Cepek Extreme Country Tires
I just bought my 2017 Wrangler Unlimited with Auto & 3.21 at the end of November 2016. I went back and forth debating on 35's or 33's. Since I daily drive and I have the 3.21 I decided on 33's ultimately. I really liked the price and look of the Dick Cepek Extreme Country's so I chose them. I had them installed on Saturday with 1.5" spacers on the factory painted 16" steel wheels. I also don't have a lift yet. I've already put around 150 miles on them with most being highway. Slight rubbing at full turn backing up and a pleasant hum when driving. I plan on doing a 2" AEV spacer lift soon and then I'll wait awhile to do any more mods. I use the Jeep mostly for daily driving and will do some light off roading (I live in Florida so its mostly sand a a little mud).

Thanks, I'll eventually upgrade to some Pro Comp 16" 7032's or 7069's when I have more funds. I'd like to have some back spacing to push out my tires from the fenders more. I work at a Jeep dealership so I have a good selection/pricing at my disposal.
Well I bought a set of these (35x12.50R17) about a month ago and I'm not very impressed at this time.
The shop had a hard time trying to balance them; and did a piss poor job at it, I'm going to have them rebalanced elsewhere. Still, I've had M/Ts that were easier to balance than these.
I'm not impressed by their performance in the rocks. They squeal a lot and don't have very good traction. The Toyos I had before (34's) were much better on ledges. So were the OEM 32" BFG KM my Rubi came with as a matter of fact.
They're very noisy. I bought them in part because they're supposed to be quiet on the road, this is NOT the case.
The tread doesn't seem very durable, I'm already missing chucks of rubber and I haven't been wheeling them hard yet.
Well that sucks to hear... Unfortunately, there will always be different experiences with different people using the same products. Still a bummer that you don't like them.
I had them for about 6 months now and love them but I think they might be making my jeep pull more to the right. Is anyone experiencing a pull from these tires. I had my ailignment checked 3 times and my buddy at the shop thinks I'm crazy but since I added these on the pull is noticable, after about 3 seconds I need to adjust or I am off the side of the road. It's not the crown on the road either. I could go down a country road on the left hand side and before I know it I'm over the center lane and back to the right. I know that some Toyo's have an issue with the tire threads that cause this and I was wondering if it might be the same issue here.
