I recently ordered 5 17" black mb TKO's with 285 70 17 Fierce Attitude tires mounted. Discount Tire got them mounted, balanced, and shipped FOR FREE in one day. I ordered them at 10 am one morning and had them the next afternoon. They actually sent me one of the wheels with the wrong bolt pattern. I called them and they got another sent out to me (which was correct) by the next afternoon with virtually no questions asked. They emailed me a paid return shipping label to send the wrong wheel/tire back to them. For the price and customer service, I don't see why anyone would buy from anyone else! And for the record, they didn't pay me to give them this shoutout! Lol. Happy Jeepin! Hope this helps someone out.
X3. I got my set up from DTD. Excellent prices and service.
Yes, please let us know about your tires. I'm ready to pull the trigger on some 35/12.5/17's and I really like the looks of those. Can't find any bad reviews on them either.
I really like them. As you would imagine they do have a nice hum to them when comparing them to stock. For being an MT I would say the road noise is mild-moderate. They provide a slightly rougher ride than stock and cause more driveline vibration through the shifter. Once again, comparing them to stock. But hey, they look bad@$$ which makes up for those differences!!!! By the way, my 5 wheels/tires cost me $1600 total. Heres a pic after the install...
I just installed a Performance leveling kit and seeing your tires just made up my mind. Def 285/70/17s. Might run them on stock rubicon wheels and spacers.
Ditto on DTD! Just ordered Level 8 Trackers and 315 Duratracs from them. RJ is the man. I had ordered tires for past cars from them so I knew the site and service was good, but I had never done a wheel and tire package or ordered by phone. Talking through the options and getting recommendations was awesome - not something you can expect from most retailers. No need to shop anywhere else!
After looking at reviews for these tires, I think I've changed my mind from the Courser MXT. It's a cheaper tire, but is also new and really doesn't have many reviews (positive or negative) for it. I was actually looking at the same wheel too, so I might end up copying you straight up....but hey can't beat a great looking / functional set up.
If I only buy a set of 4 would I still get the benefits of free mounting/balancing and shipping and what not, or is that only if you go with a set of 5?
Agrees with the ole for DTD. I ordered a set of soft 8's and Duratracs from them recently. Great service and super fast shipping. They will also price match any lower price you can find online. So there's no reason to buy anywhere else as far as online stores are concerned.
DTD is kick-ass. I called and placed my order for (5) GY 285/70 & (5) 17x9 Method- standard..2.5 hrs later I get an email letting me know they just shipped out.. how cool is that ? I was looking at a few other places, but it's a no-brainer..go with DTD and you'll be glad.
Do you guys have a contact at DTD? I am looking for some Nitto Terra Grapplers and Helo 878s. I hear DTD has the best deals. Trying to get a quote. Do forum members here get a discount?
I am a brand new owner and this will be the first thing I do to my 2014 Freedom Edition. Excited and confused with all the choices and vendors!
I am thinking about going with the 17" wheels and the 33s. Any thoughts? Reasons I should not go with them?
Call them..they will ensure you get what you want. I went with 33" GY & 17" Method- because down the road I will get a TF 2.5 lift but won't be getting 35" tires because I have no desire to re-gear..at least for now. Now a few years down the road that all may change, but for now while my jeep is brand spanking new I want to drive it a lot and get a solid feel for it before I start drastically changing the geometry, that way I can really appreciate the mods that I select and have a lot of fun out on the trails. You may want to put these on your radar too. Get new lug nuts. Get the insurance for the tires. I’ve read so many threads that have demonstrated the wise decision to do so. For me I didn’t think twice about it. The other thing to be aware of are the sensors. You can buy brand new ones to go with your new tires, but it’s gonna cost ya. I will have the sensors taken off of my stock tires and put on the new ones because they get here tomorrow!!
Thanks, Palehorse! I have already left them a VM. I am thinking about the teraflex budget boost. I will get the insurance AND the sensors taken off my current tires.
I was sold on the Nitto Terra Grapplers till I started reading about them on here and 8 out of 10 people recommend the Duratracs.
Anyone here have any thoughts? As for what I will do with the JK.... drive around town (is that what you guys refer to as "Mall Crawlers"?!!) and get to a trail maybe once a month?!!
I like the aggressive look of the Nittos. Haven't paid much attention to the Duratracs. Are they just as aggressive looking?
I want thank Matt and TC at DiscountTireDirect.com... Incredible help, great price and FAST shipping... Thanks fellas!!
My coworkers were impressed one bought the exact rim/tire set and I have another mulling over what tires he wants...
5 Level8 Trackers w/ 35 12.5 15 BFG All Terrains... (wanted the Nitto Mud Graps but not available... I will get them when they are available and have 2 sets of tires
I put my order in this past Monday. Delivered on Wednesday. Mounted today...it doesn't get any better than this. DTD has set the bar high...will post pics tomorrow.
Update....I just ordered another set of 5 wheels and tires through Discount Tire Direct. The customer service was yet again unbeatable and the shipping was lightning fast. The wheel tire combo I ordered this time were the same MB TKO wheels but with 285 70 17 Wrangler Duratracs. The Fierce Attitudes were a great tire, they just didn't ride quite as well as what I wanted them to. The Wrangler Duratracs ride much better due to the soft compound and weaker sidewalls.

Can you elaborate on what you didn't like about the fierce attitudes and give a comparison to the duratracs. I was planning on getting the fierce over the duratracs, so any observations/comparisons would be greatly appreciated.
Cant wait to order some wider tires. For sure looking into discount tires
