Good deal on some Cooper AT3 tires

Local Cooper dealer has the 235/75R15 Cooper AT3 tires on sale buy three and get the forth free. They also give a 5% discount to veterans. Top it off with a $80 Visa card from Cooper. Cost after all discounts and Visa card was $342.50.

Not bad. I just bagged up a set in 265/70-17 (32x10.50) for about $450 from DTD. Best AT tire on the market and best price of an AT tire on the market.

My favorite quote from the press release.. sad but true: "Chrysler claims its products, especially the Jeeps, can handle all sorts of terrible conditions, churning through muddy swamps, climbing mountains, and crossing rivers. Turns out they cannot even handle a car wash."

Love my AT3s

255 75 17 I wish I would of done the 265 more common size but is still had a good spare. I did not get near that good of a deal and I usually do real well at this tire shop.

They are great tires. I've had my 285/70/17's since last fall.

Not AT3's, but I just slapped on a set of 265/75 16 Cooper ATP'S from discount tire after WXman's advice of wheels vs tires I asked. Loving the Cooper brand already. Have fun with them.

Hmm.. finally got to run these a while. I've been a big proponent of them in the past but I'm getting a little luke warm on them now.

I haven't driven these in snow. Will give them a good workout this winter and report back. But rain and dry traction is fantastic so far. Tire is also very quiet even at 70 MPH. I am also pleased with the price. Ribbed pattern gives good fuel mileage. That's where the good stuff ends. The sidewall is just too mild. It looks like a HT tire. They've also been hard to balance. Been to the shop twice. Tires have 5-8 ounces of weights on each of them now. A quick Google search reveals tons of balancing issues with this tire. Not acceptable for a P265 size tire. And finally, they are short for their size. They only measure 30.5" tall mounted on my 4Runner. Every other tire I've measured in this size is right at 31" tall mounted. I feel like I paid for the 70 aspect ratio and didn't get it. I probably won't buy this tire again unless they just really impress me this winter. I've used literally dozens of AT and MT tires in my lifetime and I just feel luke-warm about these now. It's a shame. I've been wanting to love them. It's not all bad though. They're still good tires.

Tire Time

Yea , Tire time is comming quickly for me too. I cant even come close to deciding what size tire I really want. as i said in my opening statement a couple of days ago (Im a newbie) I have a set of 15's and 16's about ready to go. 30x9.5x15,,,31x10.5x15,,,245x75x16,,,Undecided. I Know I like about 3.5 inches of lift.
