Hey guys. I have a yj and bad tires. I want a good tire that is not gonna wear away on the highway but do good offroad. I also dont want to spend alot on an expensive tire. Ive been looking at BFG"s All-Terrains and Mud-Terrains. What do you think?
Nothin like a little mud on your tire
american radials makes the prospector AT i got 4 (235/75/15) that i like for $407(balanced and installed taxes in).... seem to be holding up and have good bite... not the best out there but for a 100 bucks cant go wrong.... will be buying again....
ask your tire shop what they have in Coopers. they suck off road, but they wear really well for cheap tires
I been seeing ads for General Grabbers that seem pretty cheap too, but I've never seen anyone who ran em yet. the only "good off road" tires I've ever seen wear well were the old style Wrangler MT/R's, and I'll be trying out the new version before long, but those definitely don't go in the cheap category

check out the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrecs. i LOVE them! they have a rebate going on right now too i belive.. you could always Walmart it up and get there Wrangler Authorities.. not bad i hear..
I have set of those lt235/85r16 and they are nice, very aggressive for an all-terrain and decent traction off and on road but they are fairly rough due to a high load rating. Only have used them for 4500km's and no real sign of treadwear
i have firestone destination a/t tires, just put them on and i'm extremely happy with them...quiet, handle well in the rain and snow... and i went upstate hunting and the jeep handled well on the mountain in the mud and snow...
I just put on a set of Maxxis Bighorns . I had a set before on an XJ and liked them and they don't cost much , not loud at all . They are called a MT but I would say a mild MT or an aggressive AT to give you a better idea. They required less weight to balance than my new 17" BFG ATs on my truck which are also 35s
