I am really beginning to HATE Discount Tire Direct

I know everyone has had great experiences with these folks but I have to tell you they all say something different. I am trying to order wheels based on feedback I get from this forum (2012 2 door sport and we are not lifting it) and everyone keeps saying yes 15" TKO's with 33's will fit no problem.

You call DTD and get a rep on the phone and they say no they won't fit and then hang up and call someone else at DTD and they say it will fit.

Very frustrating and not sure who the hell to believe. It may be worth overpaying and going to a local dealer and having them tell me the truth

thell fit. may rub on the fender off road tho. my experience says deal local on something like that especially if you may have a problem. its nice to have a person to hold accountable. and dont get mad at the telephone operator. there minimum wage and have a computer that tells them what will and wont and nothing says a 15 will fit the new jk

Send them a PM here, they are very responsive, and will tell you exactly what you need to know. When I finally made my DTD order over the phone, I was told the setup I wanted wouldn't fit, but I had the PM and the name of the person who assured me the set I chose would fit, and they put me on hold and went to talk to him. All was good. It's not the DTD rep's fault; manufacturers are the ones who don't know whether their wheels will fit, so that's what's in their computers. :/

They will absolutely fit. Many examples of that setup on this forum. Like mentioned, you will most likely get some running during articulation offroad, but will be fine on road.

Hello,

We apologize for the confusion. 15" wheels can be difficult to fit on the JK and our internal computer system doesn't do a good job of illustrating what will and won't fit in 15".

The TKO will fit 2007+ Jeep wranglers. The wheel itself won't hit the brake calipers and will not require any grinding of your caliper or the use of wheel spacers.

When it comes to tires, if your jeep is still stock height, a 33x12.50R15 can clear with no issues or it can run slightly. Tires are like shoes, some run larger than others even though they say they are the same size.

If your Jeep is leveled or has a mini lift installed a 33x12.50R15 mounted on the TKO will bolt up with no issues.

If we can help you more from here, please PM us your name and contact information or call TC at 1.888.459.4080 ext 51826. TC has a 2010 JKU lifted with 37" tires and he knows the fitment well.

Thanks for the response. It's just frustrating to keep hearing conflicting reports. So if I don't lift it do you think the TKO's and 33's will fit ok and I will be doing zero and I mean zero off roading.

Or am I better off with XD Addicts 17's with 285/70/17?

Thanks again!

my 2 cents is the 285 70 17. its an 1.25 in narrower and actually measures 32.8
the narrower tire will be less resistance to over come and will not affect your gas milage as much. its probably not enough to make a difference but thats my plan.

I understand completely. That's why we are here helping out. We want you to get a great product and we want to make sure it fits the way you want it to.

Read through this thread:
Anyone have a picture of the MB Wheels TKO?
There are plenty of members here running 15" alloy wheels with 33" tires. Some of them are leveled and some of them still have the stock suspension. They can tell you how their wheel and tire combo's fit and there's some good pictures there too.

Either set up you are looking at would be great for your jeep. If it were my jeep and I was never planning to lift I'd run the 15" wheels and 33" tires just to save me some money. I also like the look of a larger tire vs. a larger wheel. If this set up rubs it will happen when parking or doing a U-turn. It won't rub with driving down the street or highway. Also, if it rubs, it will rub on a lower part of the plastic front bumper. You can simply trim it if you want.

2.) what everybody else has said about the call center.

3.) DT is an awesome company. The other day I came into work after a day off and one of my employees handed me a Tshirt with MB wheels on the front and TKOs on the back, said somebody dropped it off for me since it had my wheels on it. I haven't confirmed it yet but assume it was a DT employee!!!

4.) get the tkos, I get so many complements and second looks running these things.

Good luck

Wanted to thank everyone on this forum and including our friends at DTD. As you all know my first impression was not very good but they quickly recovered once I got the right person!

Anyway ordered the TKO and 33" DuraTracs Tuesday morning and the big brown truck delivered them at 9:30 this morning not even 48 hours later. Great job DTD!

Went over to the local shop here in town and $22 later they were installed and they look MEAN!

I also want to give EAD Offroad and Quadratec a shout out!

I ordered tube doors and factory mirrors from EAD, got a great deal and they should be here today or tomorrow. Again ordered them yesterday!

I also ordered a hitch and clover path window roll from Quadratec and although the hitch won't be in until June the window roll arrived today. Great job and love the free shipping!

I just wanted to toss in that my experience ordering tires from Discount Tire Direct last summer went great.

I also took a chance and brought them to Wal-Mart to have them mounted/balanced.

It actually worked out really well. I went mid morning on a weekday. All the bays were empty and I had four guys working on the car at one time.

They were done in less than 15 minutes and it cost less than the quotes I got at Firestone / Tires Plus, etc.
