JKU 34 vs. 35 on a Dana 30

So I know that if going with 35's it's recommended to at least gusset and/or truss and possibly re-gear. I'm not too worried about the gear issue right off, more about the reinforcement. So, my plan was to go to 33's when I wear my 32 (ok 31.7") Duratracs out until I come up with money for reinforcement & regear and then jump to 35's or in the future maybe 37's. Is there a consensus on 34's though (305/65/17 for example, about 33.8")? I see a number of decent tires in this size including KM2's and Mickey Thompsons. If similar recommendations hold I'll probably just end up with a 33x12.5 but thought I'd get some input first.
