Just purchase a 2012 wrangler with 16" . Now tires or wheels?

Hello, I'm a newbie here and was thinking about getting some decent tires or tire/wheel combo for my new Wrangler.

The stock is the 16" so I will need to reprogram if i go up from 29" to 32". I'm thinking about either going with the 225's Goodyear dura track on my 16" steel wheels or look for some take off from a S package tire combo. I figure either route is around $800.

Any advise is appreciated? Also there a popular wheel tire combo with the standrad 3:23 rear diff? What is the best route to go now?

Hopefully other wil chime in to give you their experience, but a search (as I have done and continue to do) will reveil a lot of answers to you.

The questions that both of us are asking, has been asked many times, and you get to see many answers from many different angles.

The first thing many folks are going to ask is what do you intend on doing with your jeep?

Good luck and keep me informed, so I can learn from you when my jeep finally arrives.

Take care

Either will be fine. Your dealer can flash your computer to upgrade the speedo for up to a 32" tire. As mentioned, everything depends on what you plan to do with the Jeep. Wheeling often, occasionally, DD, mud, rocks, snow....... Do you plan to lift it?

This will be my daily driver during the winter season. This is the first time I went SUV from sports cars.

Everything is new to me. Never tried the mud, rock stuff but i guess mainly used for the snow. I was looking at tirerack and it seems these OE tires are horrible for the snow therefore was thinking goodyear duratrac I orginally wanted the 3:73 and LSD but couldn't pass up on a good deal on this vehicle. Couldn't justify spending an extra $3400.

For my purpose it seems the 225 tire options should be best but not the best looking
