Lift vs. OEM Rubi wheels

Ok. Finally pulled the trigger on a set of 285/70/17 tires for the OEM Rubicon wheels I have sitting in my garage.
Here are my questions:
1. Will this setup (32.8" diameter) fit on my stock height 2-door X? With/without spacers?
2. Will I need spacers when I add a 3.5" Rock Krawler lift?

Thanks! Mark W.

I'm not sure about the JK's needing spacers for that wheel/tire combo.

The lift does not determine need for spacers. Its the width of the tire that does.

From what I was told today at the dealership you can run up to a 33 inch tire with no rub at factory height. Also the rear gate was redesigned on the JK's to hold a 33" spare wheel and tire...so you do not need the swing out arm. They had one in the showroom today with just a 2.5 lift and it was at least 4-5 inches from the fenders.

Yeah, it depends on the tire...I have seen rubbing on a 33" at stock JK height. It is minor but still there. I wouldn't upgrade wheels and tires w/o doing a Skyjacker, RE, or Teraflex BB lift at least for starters.....

You will likely rub hard parts up front at full lock and will need wheel spacers; not a big deal.
Depending on the tires, you'll probably only get 32.3" or so from that size anyhow.

Ok- they're Firestone Destination A/T's- overall diameter (according to Tirerack) is 32.8"

So daily driving, on-road, pre-lift, they shouldn't rub? Because I'd HATE to swap over TPMS and get these all ready to rock, then have them rub- my girl would beat me, and not in a good way Mark W.

Don't make any full-lock turns; I still think you'd benefit from 1.5" wheel spacers. Backspacing is pretty high on stock wheels and 285 width is stretching things.

Ok- without spacers, they fit nicely!
Sadly, the stupid StarScan can't compensate for anything but OEM sizes, apparently, so my speedo is a bit off.
Sounds like it's time for a programmer, na? Pics to follow- Mark W.
