I have 255/85R16s on my LJ. They are very civil for a MT. Only have a couple thousand miles on them so far. They are not louder than my Banks exhaust.

I have a 35x12.5x15 Maxxis Bighorn as a spare. It has never been used, is very quiet hanging off the back of my Jeep, and the tread is holding up like steel.

Actually, when my Xtreme Mud Terrains wear out, I will most likely buy a set of Bighorns to match my spare.

I like the looks of the tread and am hoping they will perform better in the deep snow..
Interested in hearing some more reviews of this tire also.

I think JP magazine did a write up a bunch of tires... And the Big Horn was one of them. If you Google MUD TIRE SHOOT-OUT... I think that was also one of the tires they did a review on.
I was surprised at what TIRE won the shootout And the top three tires... I personally run Mickey Thompson's MTZ...awesome tire!

Have a set of 255x85x16 on my TJ. Tires work great offroad in deep mud and rocks. Reasonably quiet on road and seem to wear decently.
