The MT's are good tires, but I'm not sure how much highway life you'll get out of them. And they may actually be noisier than the KM2's. Generally, they're boutique tires and are priced as such, though the price you listed doesn't sound too bad.
Since you live in Indiana, I'd advise you to look at GoodYear DuraTracs. Great for snow (anything slick, actually), long tread life, light weight, quiet.
