Why would you need that much lift for 31s when you can fit them on with no lift at all?

X2

A huge lift with 31's looks out of place IMO and screams..."i can afford a lift but I can't afford the tires"

Well my little 4banger has a 4in lift and 32s now and I like it like that, the problem is there are few tires that come in 32in and it's a dd and I think that a 33in mud terrain would push my jeep about to its limits being that it's a 4cyl. In the future I may want to go like another inch max. Just planning for what "may" happen down the road. Any advice is appreciated. Most tires come in either 33 or 31.

So you like all that space between the tires and fender flares?
Are you wanting to go to a 5" lift and keep the same 32" tires down the road?
Stock driveshaft?

I'm putting a sye and new drive shaft on this summer before I do ANYTHING but yeah I like the look of 32s with the 4in and it wouldn't look bad with 31s the way it is, but I don't want to spend the $ on 31s then lift it another inch and have it look "naked". Make sense kinda?

Why put a 4" lift then fill the space with tire and lose the articulation? I can afford a bigger tire but don't need or want them. I'm sure your big lift and big tires look great in the mall parking lot. My funny looking rig will keep climbing and articulating over anything that comes on the trail. I'll take function over looks any day.

And that's exactly my problem

I don't want to get bigger tires until the ones I have are worn out and I can regear. So I'll get the lift now and around September or November I'll get the tires and the gears.
