New Jeep owner looking for tires

Hey guys, I finally bought my jeep and it's a 2002 Sport, 6CYL, Manual and I love her! It came with some black 15'' rims and wrapped in some "Wild Country Radial XTX" tires but they're pretty bald. So I have $700ish to play with and I'm looking into getting some BF Goodrich TA KO's, because I'm trying to buy something mean looking and that likes to play in the mud. I was looking at the BFG M/T also but I'm scared the ride will be too loud and rocky on the road (I'll be doing most of my driving on road, I'd say about 70-30).

I've also heard of Kumhos and some Goodyears. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I want a mean looking tire but I don't want to have to be uncomfortable every time I have to drive to work. Not to say I need the ride to be smooth, just bearable lol.

Thanks for any help and advice yall can send my way!

I run BFG All Terrains and they are great on and off road. I think they are a great all around tire.

X2, just bought a set on ebay. $648+75 shipping (32x11.50 15). They were back ordered at a couple of local stores.

i have a set of km2's that i just bought and they're amazing. I love them. they're 33x10.5s and much quieter than the 31x11.5s i had on before and handle great. i use to think that the ta ko was a mean looking tire and my number one choice when i was shopping for 31s this spring, now after just a few rides off road with fellow jeepers, i look at that tire like a regular at and that's about it. its an extremely capable tire and is probably perfect for ya and the best out there for all conditions. since 1. i've only ran about 15k on my jeep in the last 2.66666 years since i've owned it 2. don't make huge commutes, and 3. love off roading, the km2 seemed ideal for my situation. and after selling the studs from last winter and the rebate, i only ended up dishing out $350 for all 4!!!

oooppps forgot to add. don't foget about the wrangler MTR, either the older one or new kevlar tire. they're one of the best out there too and are much quieter than practically any other mt out there. they have a very practical tread pattern for the road and wear very well, they also give you great grip when you're in the dirt or crawling over rocks. theres a retread place midwest that sells the identicle tread pattern as the old wrangler MTR in 31's. you can request to get wrangler carcasses too. $85 a pop. 19 or 21/32nds depth i think. been tested by jp and they gave em a thumbs up.

I'll reccomend Goodyear duratracs. Better in the rain and offroad than BFG a/ts and are quiet for how aggressive they are. They are sposed to be VERY good in the snow and are pinned for studding for icy states.

Here are the duratracs on my jeep (yes they are an all terrain technically)

tread

Yeah it is. Deeper than BFG a/ts tread. They look MUCH beefier and aggressive in person. Pictures don't do them justice. The tread is deeper in person too.

I love duratrac's, but they don't make them in 32's... I wish they did

I have used 3 different tire sets so fat. BFG AT, Maxxis Bighorns MT, and now TrXus Radial MT's. I love the TrXus. Very nice looking tire and great for both on and off road.

+2

However since you mentioned Mud, I'd go with another option...I hear BFG A/T TA KO's gunk up in mud...

I've had the duratracs for about 7 months now, love them. Quiet on the road, tough on the trail and great in rain (trust me I live in Ga and know about rain)
