Hi, I had the wheels for a few weeks. Debated on tires for about 6 months. Glad I went with the 285/70/17, looks great. no change in ride, and the Duratracs are pretty quiet, with a small humm!!!

Rim protectos/ yes or leave em off ???

Hi, just curious what you-all think about the RR - rim protectors. I put one on the spare check to see.. should I leave them off? and add them after the wheels take a beating

I like the wheels without the protectors, personally.

Then again, the purpose of the protectors is to keep the outer edges of the wheels from getting trashed in the first place.

Looks great Roxbury! I took your advice on the AEV lift. It goes on this week. I'll post some pics.

First pic - New in Oct-2010 ( 2011 Stock JKUS )
2nd pic - Fall 2011 ( 2" AEV Level kit )
3rd pic - Spring 2012 ( new 33's, RR w/duratrac )

Still cannot get over what tires/wheels do to a Wrangler...
I should not have waited soo long

Still to come: Light Bar, Stubby kit, RC 1-1/4" BL, Fastback softtop, Bilstein Shocks....

Your rig looks really nice. Just bought a 2012 and get in two weeks. It is just starting for me and I will start with the lift and have purchased some JW Speaker LED headlights. You seem happy with the AEV.

Can this tire/wheel size combo fit without rubbing without a lift or leveling? (No serious off-road besides dirt trails).

Thanks.

the tires were $263.00 each at Discount Tire, and the wheels were about $180 each..
just over $2200

Roxbury, sweet truck! The RR Satin Black wheels & 33" DuraTracs look awesome.

I want to order this same wheel & tire combo for my black 2 door, I think they'll completely transform the Jeep. I believe this is pretty much the largest tire I can safely install without having to worry about rubbing, since I don't have a lift.

However, I can't find 285/70-17 DuraTracs in anything but Outline White Lettering. How did you get that size in blackwall?

Goodyear*Wrangler DuraTrac

Per Goodyear, they only come in OWL:

Wrangler DuraTrac | Goodyear Tires

LT285/70R17 121Q OWL 7.5-9.0 8.50 11.5 33.0 18 3,195@65

Wait a second, is the OWL on only one side of the tire, with the other side still black?

If that's the case, I can just mount them with the white letters facing inward.

Hi, thanks MikeK46.... You should not have a problem locating the 285/70/17 in Duratracs.. DT will likely be one of the lower priced places... ! . so far love the wheels/tires..
